Helen Boulton is a Reader in Technology Enhanced Learning and Teaching in the School of Education at Nottingham Trent University. Helen was an ICT Co-ordinator at a large comprehensive school in Nottinghamshire before moving to Nottingham Trent University where she set up and ran the PGCE (Secondary) in ICT for 9 years. Helen also successfully initiated the PGCE Diploma in ICT which she also led through its first year. She is currently Programme Leader for the Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education. Her research, scholarly and professional interests include blended and online learning and teaching, the application of new technologies to learning, and assessment and feedback in learning and teaching.
Helen has published in various journals, and has also presented her research at many national and international conferences. She is co-author of Learning and Teaching with Virtual Learning Environments (Learning Matters, 2007) and co-authored Understanding Teaching and Learning in Secondary Schools (Pearsons 2011). Helen currently reviews papers for the European Journal of Teacher Education and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
